Obverse description Radiate or laureate bare head of Divus Augustus facing left, rendered in a provincial style characteristic of the Emerita mint under Tiberius. The portrait is modestly detailed with a strong profile, the neck truncation visible at the lower field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER, identifying the deified Augustus as Father of the Nation. The flan is irregular in shape, as typical of provincial hammered coinage of this period.
