Obverse description Bare, youthful head of the eponymous hero Kyzikos facing right, with finely rendered facial features in the Hellenistic tradition. The portrait is unbearded and depicted without armor or drapery, consistent with heroic iconography. The circular legend ΚΥΖΙΚΟϹ appears in Greek characters around the periphery of the flan. The die work reflects provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period, with moderate relief typical of the Mysian mint at Cyzicus.
