Reverse description Tyche of the city of Edessa seated left upon a throne or base (basis), holding corn ears in her extended hand as an emblem of civic prosperity; before her feet stands a lighted altar. A star appears in both the left and right fields, flanking the central figure. In the exergue, a river god swims to the right, representing the Daisan (Skirtos) river of Edessa. The reverse legend ΜΗΤ ΚΟΛ ΕΔΕϹϹΗΝωΝ, reading 'Metropolis Colonia of the Edessenes,' encircles the design.
