| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, depicted from behind, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder visible in the field. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage, with the laureate wreath clearly indicated. A partial Greek legend runs along the periphery, reading ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥ ΑΝΤ[---], abbreviated titulature identifying the emperor as Autocrator Caesar Marcus Aurelius Antoninus. The flan is irregular and shows characteristic surface patination consistent with prolonged circulation. |
