背面描述 Aeneas, depicted as a heroic armoured figure, strides purposefully to the right with head turned back to the left, carrying his aged father Anchises upon his left shoulder; the youthful Ascanius is led by the hand at lower left, following closely behind. The group is rendered in the canonical Trojan flight composition well attested on provincial coinage of Phrygia. The Greek civic legend and dedicatory inscription of the magistrate Alexandros occupy the field and border, framed by a beaded outer border.

附加信息

Otrus was a minor Phrygian city whose civic coinage output was modest even by provincial standards, and issues naming Alexander as honorand — almost certainly Alexander the Great, whose cult retained genuine civic traction in Asia Minor well into the Severan period — appear in small numbers across the conventus of Apamea. The dedication formula ΑΝΕΘ (ἀνέθηκε, "dedicated") suggests this piece functioned as a votive or honorific issue rather than routine civic bronze.
