Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Caracalla as Caesar facing right, depicted in three-quarter view from the front. The portrait displays the youthful features characteristic of Caracalla during his tenure as Caesar under Septimius Severus. A Greek legend encircles the bust, running along the periphery of the flan. The die work reflects the provincial engraving style typical of Bithynian civic coinage of the Severan period.
