Reverse description Cybele, the Phrygian mother goddess, enthroned and facing left, holding a patera in her extended right hand and resting her left arm upon a tympanum; a lion, her sacred animal, reclines at her side. The composition reflects the strong local cult of Cybele at Cotiaeum in Phrygia, rendered in the compact provincial style common to Synnadan conventus bronzes. The encircling legend names the civic authority and the presiding magistrate responsible for the issue.
