Ceretapa Diocaesarea was a small Phrygian city whose civic coinage survives in frustratingly thin numbers, making attribution to the V.2 corpus the primary means of pinning down these otherwise obscure bronzes. The city held the honorific suffix Diocaesarea — a designation shared by several Anatolian communities currying favor with the imperial house — though it never rose to administrative prominence within the Cibyra conventus.
Severus's reign saw a surge in provincial bronze production across Asia Minor, driven partly by chronic shortages of official Roman small change reaching the interior.
