The effigy is encircled by a Greek imperial titulature legend reading ΜΑΡΚΙΑ ΟΤΑΚ ϹΕΥΟΥΗΡΑ ΑΥ, identifying the empress as Marcia Otacilia Severa Augusta. The flan is irregular and the surfaces heavily patinated, obscuring fine detail. The portrait reflects the idealized convention of imperial consort imagery common to the Conventus of Cyzicus. |

The ethnic legend ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΑΤΩΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing community.
