| Descripción del reverso | A tetrastyle temple with an arched (Syrian) pediment and four columns is depicted in elevation, enclosing the draped, veiled, and turreted figure of the Tyche of Nisibis seated facing; she holds the attributes of civic fortune befitting a colonial metropolis. Above Tyche, within the temple, a ram leaps to the right, serving as an astral or civic emblem. In the exergue below the temple, a river god swims to the right, personifying the local Mygdonius (Jaghjagh) river. The reverse legend ΙΟΥ ϹΕΠ ΚΟΛΩ ΝΕϹΙΒΙ ΜΗΤ, distributed in the field and around the temple, abbreviates the city's full honorific title: Iulia Septimia Colonia Nisibis Metropolis. |
