| Obverse description | Confronted jugate busts of Nero, bare-headed and draped, facing right, and Agrippina II, draped and bare-headed, facing left, arranged facing one another. The Greek legend arcs around the periphery, reading ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΚΑΙ ΘΕΑ ΑΓΡΙΠΠΕΙΝ[Α], identifying the imperial pair. The rendering is characteristic of provincial workshop style, with both effigies displaying bold, if somewhat roughly executed, portraiture. |
