| Reverse description | Full-length cult statue of Apollo Didymeus rendered frontally, nude, standing erect in the archaic xoanon tradition associated with the great sanctuary at Didyma near Miletus. The deity holds a stag in one hand and a bow in the other, evoking the celebrated cult image venerated at the Didymaion. The Greek legend of the magistrate's name and ethnic of the Milesians runs around the periphery of the flan, partially off-flan on this example. |
