Corinth's colonial coinage under Marcus Aurelius was issued by the Roman colony of Colonia Laus Iulia Corinthiensis — the city refounded by Julius Caesar in 44 BC on the site of the Greek polis destroyed by Mummius in 146 BC. The abbreviation C L I COR in the reference reflects that colonial identity, not a Greek civic authority. Provincial bronze of this type circulated locally in the Peloponnese while the imperial mint in Rome handled silver.
The dating to 161–169 places this squarely within the co-reign of Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus, though Corinthian colonial issues rarely distinguish between the two emperors with any consistency across die pairings.
