Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, with a full beard rendered in short curls characteristic of his early imperial portraits. The emperor is depicted with naturalistic facial features consistent with the Antonine school of portraiture. A partially legible Latin legend encircles the bust within the outer border of the flan. The coin shows significant wear and a flan chip at the right, affecting both the legend and the rim. The overall style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage struck at Parium in Mysia during the early reign of Marcus Aurelius.
