Reverse description Zeus Lydios depicted standing to the left in the field, his weight resting on a long vertical sceptre held in his left hand, while his right hand extends forward bearing an eagle. The deity is rendered in a frontal-facing stance with head turned left, consistent with the Lydian cult type widely disseminated across coins of the Sardis conventus. The Greek civic legend of the Traianopolitans encircles the reverse design. The style reflects the provincial die-cutting tradition of western Asia Minor under the joint reign of Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus.
