Obverse description Bare-headed, cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius, draped with paludamentum, facing right and seen from the rear, rendered in the late Antonine style with a notably elongated face and an exceptionally long, full beard. The emperor's portrait reflects the mature iconography associated with his sole reign after 169 AD. The obverse legend, partially abbreviated in Greek, encircles the bust within the coin's field.
