| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate and draped bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Antiochene coinage. The emperor's effigy displays a finely detailed portrait with curled hair and a laurel wreath. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΑΥΤΟ ΚΑΙϹ Θ ΤΡ Π ΥΙ Θ ΝΕΡ ΥΙω ΤΡ ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒΑϹ, identifying Hadrian with his full imperial titulature. A rectangular countermark, likely applied by a military authority, is visible on the coin's field, consistent with Howgego type 378 countermarks known for this series. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of provincially struck hammered bronzes of the period. |
