Adramyteum, a coastal city in Mysia, held conventus jurisdiction over a stretch of the Troad and issued bronze coinage under its own civic authority throughout the third century. The magistrate name rendered here — Apolinarios — appears in the strategos formula, identifying him as the presiding civic official responsible for authorizing the issue. Gordian III's reign saw a marked expansion of such provincial bronze production across Asia Minor, partly filling gaps left by reduced central silver output during the military crises of the 240s.
