| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, rendered three-quarters from the rear in the characteristic late Roman provincial style. The imperial effigy displays a radiate laurel wreath and visible drapery over the cuirass, with paludamentum folds at the shoulder. The Greek legend encircles the bust along the periphery of the flan. The die work, though worn, reflects the provincial engraving tradition of Heraclea Pontica during the mid-third century AD. |
