| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Gallienus facing right, depicted from a rear three-quarter perspective, a presentation characteristic of provincial bronze coinage of the period. The obverse legend ΠΟ ΛΙΚ ΓΑΛΛΙΗΝΟΝ runs around the bust, abbreviating the emperor's full Latin name Publius Licinius Gallienus. The coin is struck on an irregular flan typical of provincial civic issues, and the surfaces show the characteristic broad, flat fabric of Greek imperial bronzes from the Peloponnese. |

| Reverse description | Zeus stands to the left, nude, with his head turned to the right in a dignified contrapposto pose; his left hand rests on his hip while his right hand holds a long sceptre upright. The reverse legend ΑΡΓΕΙωΝ, divided by the figure of Zeus with the numeral Ι-Α (11) on either side, identifies this as a civic issue of the Argives and bears a sequential or magistrate number. The rendering of Zeus recalls classical Peloponnesian iconographic traditions, appropriate for a mint at Argos, a city with strong Zeus cult associations. |
