| Obverse description | Draped and diademed bust of Empress Salonina facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Ionian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The effigy displays elaborately arranged hair secured by a diadem, with drapery visible at the shoulder. A Greek legend encircles the bust in the field, reading in part ϹΑΛ ΧΡΥϹΟΓΟΓΟΝΗ ϹΕ, an unusual epithet-title combination. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show heavy encrustation consistent with bronze provincial coinage of the period. |
