| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Moesian civic coinage of the early third century AD. The radiate wreath of laurel leaves is rendered in moderate relief, with curled hair visible beneath. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡΗ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The flan is slightly irregular and shows characteristic die wear consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the period. |
