| 正面描述 | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Elagabalus (Marcus Aurelius Antoninus) facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of the Decapolis mint at Hippos-Susita. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic youthful features, with a laurel wreath upon his head and drapery visible at the shoulder. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust within the field. |

Hippos-Susita, perched on its basalt plateau above the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee, was one of the Decapolis cities that retained the right to strike civic bronze under Roman oversight. Issues under Elagabalus are among the final documented coinages from the mint — the city's output effectively ceases shortly after his reign, making this a late and scarce product of a dying civic tradition.
Spijkerman's corpus remains the essential reference for Decapolis bronzes, compiled largely from excavation finds at the sites themselves.
