| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, depicted in the military manner typical of provincial Roman coinage. The emperor's portrait occupies the central field, rendered in moderate relief with visible paludamentum folds at the shoulder. A partially preserved Latin legend encircles the bust, reading clockwise from the upper left, with letters partially off-flan or worn. The style is characteristic of the Corinthian colonial mint, with a somewhat coarser execution than central imperial issues. |
