Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of the Corinthian colonial mint. The effigy displays the characteristic portrait type of Commodus with laurel wreath, segmented cuirass detail visible at the truncation. A circular legend surrounds the bust, partially legible due to wear, reading M AVR COMMODVS ANTON[INVS AVG]. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show heavy patination consistent with a hammered provincial bronze issue.
