Obverse description Draped bust of Artemis Boreitene facing right, her hair rendered in tight curls beneath what appears to be a stephane or diadem, the effigy presented in the typical provincial Roman style of the Antonine period. A symbol or device to the right of the bust terminates in a stag's head, an attribute closely associated with the cult of Artemis and characteristic of her Boreitene epithet as worshipped in the region of Thyatira. The partial legend ΒΟΡΕΙΤΗΝΗ is visible in the field, identifying the deity by her local cultic title. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show considerable wear, consistent with heavy circulation.
