| Obverse description | Draped bust of the Roman Senate personified, facing right, rendered in the conventional provincial style. The portrait is depicted with flowing drapery at the shoulder, characteristic of senatorial iconography on Greek Imperial civic coinage. The Greek legend ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ encircles the bust, identifying the effigy as the Senate. The die work is typical of the Lydian provincial workshop active under the Severan dynasty. |
