| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, depicted with characteristic beard and layered hair rendered in the provincial style. The emperor's effigy shows drapery on the left shoulder, with the portrait occupying the full field. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ ΑΔΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor as Autocrator Caesar Hadrianus Antoninus Sebastos. The die work reflects the competent artistry of the Cyzicene mint workshop of the early Antonine period. |
