| Obverse description | Youthful laureate and draped bust of Temenos, the mythological oikist (founder) of Temenothyrae, facing right. The effigy is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition with carefully modelled hair beneath the wreath and drapery visible at the truncation. The encircling Greek legend ΤΗΜΕΝΟϹ ΟΙΚΙϹΤΗϹ identifies the heroic figure as the city's founder. |
