| Beschrijving voorzijde | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Aemilian facing right, viewed from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style typical of Dacian bronzes, with bold if somewhat rough engraving. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP C M AEMIL AEMILIANVS AVG, partially visible around the beaded border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Aemilian's reign lasted roughly three months in 253 AD before his own troops murdered him — making any coin struck in his name exceptionally rare by simple arithmetic. Provincia Dacia issues dated AN VIII (year eight of the provincial era, corresponding to 253) represent one of the last emissions before the series effectively paused during the chaos of the year of three emperors.
The Dacian provincial coinage used its own internal dating system beginning from 246 AD under Philip I, independent of regnal years, which occasionally creates attribution confusion when the reigning emperor's tenure fails to align with the provincial year.
