The figure is rendered in the conventional provincial style associated with Lydian civic bronzes of the Severan and post-Severan periods. The surrounding field carries the magistrate inscription naming the strategos Aurelius Papias, son of Hermo—, along with the ethnic of the Blaundians. The composition is well-centered on the irregular flan, consistent with hammered provincial production. |
