| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Herennius Etruscus (as Caesar) facing right, seen from the rear, with paludamentum visible at shoulder. The effigy displays the characteristic military dress of an imperial prince of the mid-third century. A Greek legend surrounds the bust in the field, reading from left to right. The style is typical of the provincial bronze coinage struck at Metropolis in Phrygia under the joint reign of Trajan Decius. |

| Reverse description | The cult statue of Artemis of Ephesus (Ephesia) standing facing, rendered in the distinctive archaic xoanon style, wearing a kalathos (polos) on her head and adorned with multiple rows of ova or breasts on the torso, with lateral supports or stags flanking the lower body. The figure is presented frontally in the hieratic manner characteristic of the Ephesian Artemis type as reproduced on provincial coinage of Asia Minor. The reverse legend, disposed around the type in the field, records the civic titles of Metropolis in Phrygia. |
