Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Trajan Decius facing right, depicted from behind, showing the elaborate articulation of the military cuirass and paludamentum. The radiate crown, composed of pointed rays, identifies the emperor with solar iconography customary for the period. The surrounding field carries the Greek imperial titulature legend. The flan exhibits minor edge irregularities characteristic of provincial hammered coinage of the mid-third century AD.
