Reverse description The Roman Emperor Trajan, depicted in full military dress including paludamentum and cuirass, stands facing left and extends his right hand to crown a trophy of arms erected before him. The trophy, composed of captured barbarian weapons and armour, alludes directly to his Dacian victories. His left hand rests upon a long spear. The scene is a powerful iconographic statement of imperial military triumph, well-suited to the honorific titulature ΔΑΚΙΚΟϹ. The legend ΑΥ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ ΔΑΚΙΚΟϹ is disposed around the reverse field.
