Obverse description Draped bust of Demos facing right, wearing a diadem, with hair rendered in loose curling locks falling to the neck. The personification is depicted in the Hellenistic civic tradition, representing the collective citizenry of Themisonium. The legend ΔΗΜΟϹ appears in the field, identifying the effigy. The flan is irregular and the relief is boldly struck, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period.
