Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Julia Mamaea facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage. The effigy displays a stephane or diadem crown above the brow, with the hair arranged in waves and gathered at the nape. Drapery is visible at the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend reads ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ΜΑΜΑΙΑ ΑΥΓ, identifying the Augusta and mother of Severus Alexander. The flan is irregularly shaped with moderate die wear and green patination throughout.
