| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Severus Alexander facing right, depicted with youthful features typical of his portraiture. The Greek imperial legend is disposed around the periphery of the flan. The die work reflects the provincial workshop style of Bithynian mints under the Severan dynasty. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show characteristic green and brown patination consistent with ancient bronze provincial coinage. |
