Obverse description Laureate, draped bust of Severus Alexander facing right, the emperor portrayed as a young man with short hair beneath the laurel wreath. Drapery is visible on the left shoulder. The circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, partially visible in the field despite significant surface wear. The die work is typical of provincial Syrian-Mesopotamian workshop production of the Severan period.
