Reverse description The Tyche of the city is depicted seated to the left upon a rocky outcrop, her figure rendered in the characteristic provincial style of Mesopotamian civic coinage. She holds an eagle turned to the right, a motif closely associated with military and civic iconography of the region. A bilingual legend surrounds the type, combining Greek script identifying the Rhesaenians with a Latin reference to Legio III Parthica Severiana. The reverse field shows considerable wear and patination consistent with the coin's bronze fabric and age.
