Reverse description Frontal architectural view of the celebrated temple of Aphrodite at Paphos (Cyprus), rendered in the provincial coin style. The sacred baetyl or conical stone sacred to Aphrodite is prominently displayed within the temple interior, flanked by a crescent and star. The temple columns are surmounted by doves and torches, emblematic of the Paphian cult. The reverse legend references the local magistrate Nikomachos and records Sardis's status as a twice-neocorate city, with the epithet ΠΑΦΙΗ alluding to the Paphian Aphrodite venerated there.
