Reverse description Tyche of the city of Edessa enthroned left upon a decorated basis, holding ears of corn in her extended hand, symbolizing the city's prosperity and fertility. A lighted altar is placed at her feet, and a six-pointed star appears on either side of the central figure within the field. In the exergue, a river god swims rightward, personifying the Daisan (Skirtus) river at Edessa. The reverse legend in Greek identifying the metropolis colony of the Edessenes encircles the composition.
