| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Severus Alexander facing right, portrayed from the rear in the provincial style typical of Mesopotamian civic coinage. The effigy displays the imperial paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, with the cuirass visible beneath. The surrounding field carries the Greek imperial titulature legend. The die work reflects the provincial engraving tradition of Edessa, with a characteristically broad flan and informal fabric. |
