The figure is rendered in the classical Hellenistic tradition favoured by Pergamene civic coinage, befitting a city that housed one of antiquity's most celebrated Asclepieion sanctuaries. The encircling Greek legend references the city's double neocorate status and the magistrate Pollio. A ground line is visible beneath the figure. |
