Reverse description Zeus Laodiceus, the principal civic deity of Laodicea ad Lycum, depicted standing left in full figure, clad in himation with the upper body bare. He extends his right hand forward holding an eagle, while his left hand grasps a tall sceptre resting against his shoulder. The figure stands on a ground line, rendered in the typical provincial bronze style of the Severan period. The ethnic legend ΛΑΟΔΙΚΕΩΝ is distributed around the periphery within a beaded border.
