Eriza was a minor Phrygian settlement whose civic coinage exists in such small numbers that individual die studies are still incomplete. The magistrate name partially preserved in the legend — likely a local archon or strategus responsible for authorizing the issue — is one of only a handful of named officials documented from this city across the entire Severan period. The conventus of Cibyra grouped several such small Phrygian communities under Roman judicial administration, and their bronze issues served purely local exchange; very few traveled far enough to show meaningful wear.
