The hero's club appears to the right of the composition, a standard attribute identifying the subject. The date, rendered in the Seleucid era numeral ΕΞϹ (265, corresponding to 201/202 CE), is inscribed in the exergue. The reverse legend is disposed around the field in Greek, identifying the issuing civic authority. The composition is typical of provincial bronze coinage from the Decapolis and neighbouring Arabian cities under Severan rule. |
