Reverse description Rhea, the Titan mother of the Olympian gods, is depicted seated to the right with her head turned to the left, gazing attentively at the infant Zeus seated upon rocks before her. To the right of the composition stands an altar, an allusion to the sacred Phrygian traditions linking the region to the myth of Zeus's concealment and upbringing. The ethnic legend ΑΜΟΡΙΑΝΩΝ (of the Amorians) appears in the field, identifying the issuing city of Amorium. The reverse type is of local mythological significance, reflecting Phrygia's claims to the birthplace of Zeus.
