| Obverse description | Draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla as Caesar facing right, viewed from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The portrait displays the youthful features characteristic of Caracalla during his designation as Caesar under Septimius Severus. The Greek legend Μ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤΩ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ encircles the bust, identifying the subject as Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Caesar. The flan shows the irregular, hand-struck fabric typical of provincial bronze coinage from Asia Minor. |
