| Beschrijving keerzijde | Helios, the solar deity, depicted standing facing in the field, his figure rendered frontally in the centre of the die. He holds a long torch in one hand, a motif closely associated with his role as god of light and the sun in the Bithynian civic religious context. The ethnic legend of the city of Prusa ad Olympum is disposed around the reverse field. The heavily worn and corroded surfaces obscure fine detail, but the standing deity and the torch attribute remain the principal iconographic elements of this civic bronze type. |
