| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate and draped bust of the Demos personified, bearded, facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Phrygian civic coinage under Philip I. The legend ΔΗΜΟΣ appears in the field, identifying the effigy as the personification of the people of Apamea. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hammered provincial bronze production of the mid-third century AD. The portrait displays substantial relief with detailed treatment of the wreath and beard. |
